Very weird and nice shape and looks like they are very rare. But after some googling I’ve found some info about Matrix M-401, and then site of Spalt Instruments. Site looks very old, but with plenty of information, like gallery of hybrids and description of them. Prices on those guitars varies from $1250 to $3000.

Great tool to print fretboard diagrams for 4,5,6-string bass, guitar, violin, banjo and other instruments. You can specify tuning, size and location of fretboard on page, mark degrees and notes of specific scales or chords, display location and notes of harmonics (very useful for me). A pedal of the greatest magnitude!! I’ve seen all the grousing on the various discussion boards about “busy” bass players in blues bands and the grief they can cause. Give ‘em a break guys and girls, it’s not their fault! It’s the dreaded Jaco Syndrome (no disrespect intended!). Simply insert the Jaco-B-Gone in your bass players signal chain and he or she will never know what hit them! No matter how hard they try, all that comes out is a deep, grooving, solid bass line.

Finally, I think I got it. The difference between standing and sitting position is not only in angle of neck, position of bass itself… Just do this: sit down with your bass. Do you see the fretboard? The whole fretboard? Yes? This is the problem. Stand up and check what you see now. This is only 4th (5th, 6th) string and small dots on the side of the neck. Maybe part of fretboard. The problem is in this lengthwise angle. Remember it and practice sitting with the same angle.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what is wrong – leg, angle of bass towards horizon, height… I tried to maintain this things the same while sitting and standing and failed again and again. I’m standing up and my speed and accuracy reduces. And I’m doomed to practice it from the beginning. And finally I got it. I’m happy.
